NEW ORDER POKER
A strategic poker variant where hand rankings shift with every bet
Rules
SETUP
1
Ranking Column
Arrange the 13 Ranking Cards in a vertical column, strongest at top (Flush Five) to weakest at bottom (High Card).
2
Ledger Card
Place beside the column. Slide the metal dart to 1.
3
Disruptor Deck
Shuffle the 85 Disruptor Cards. Place face-down.
4
Chips
Distribute evenly (40–75 per player depending on count).
5
Tokens
Give each player 1 Hedging Token.
PLAYING A HAND
Each hand has 10 phases:
1
Ante
Everyone puts 1 chip in the pot.
2
Deal
Deal 5 hole cards to each player.
3
Bet I
Standard betting round.
4
Draw
Discard up to 3 cards, draw replacements.
5
Community Card I
Reveal one shared card.
6
Bet II
Standard betting round.
7
Community Card II
Reveal second shared card.
8
Bet III
Final betting round.
9
Showdown
Best 5-card hand wins (from 7 cards: 5 hole + 2 community). Hand strength follows the current Ranking Column.
Note: identical hands split the pot. If one hand was elevated by a Disruptor and another is natural, the elevated hand wins.

Draw Disruptor Cards
See below.
MANIPULATION
This is the core mechanic. You can promote any hand type one position up the Ranking Column.

When
Only when you Bet, Call, or Raise.
Cost
Pay chips equal to the number on the Ledger Card, then slide the dart to increase the cost of manipulating the market.
Cap
Cost maxes out at 20.
Persistence
All changes to the column last the entire match (unless manipulated again).

Example
Dart is at 5. You say "I bet 3 and promote Straight for 5." Pay 8 total. Move Straight up one position. Dart slides to 6.
DISRUPTOR CARDS
After every showdown, reveal Disruptor Cards equal to one more than the number of players at showdown. Best hand picks first, then second-best, and so on. Drafting is mandatory—no passing. If you muck your hand, you forfeit your pick. Any unselected card goes to the discard pile.
Instant
Take the action described, then discard the card.
Personal
These affect only the player who selects them. Place in front of you, face-up. You may have at most 2 Personal cards. To take a third, you must first discard one you already have.
Community
These affect everyone. Place in the center of the table near the pot. There can be at most 2 Community cards in play. To add a third, you must first discard one already in play.
HEDGING (OPTIONAL)
Place your token on any Ranking Card and pay 5 chips to the pot.
If the winning hand matches that rank, collect 20 chips before the pot is awarded.
You may move your token anytime during the hand, but you must pay 5 chips each time you move it.
WINNING THE MATCH
The match ends when only one player remains.
